Guide

Immobilisation is a basic principle when treating injuries and excess stress as the healing process is accelerated considerably and resulting health damages are prevented. Ankle joint braces support damaged tissue structures (joints, ligaments, capsules and cartilages) and allow the simultaneous functional exercising of non-injured structures. The BORT MalleoXpress enables effective stabilisation of the ankle joint and its mobilisation in accordance with the course of therapy.
Indications:
Fitting instructions:
Step 1
Open the circular Velcro fasteners and release the Boa fastener by pulling it outwards until you it clicks audibly. The fastener is now unlocked and the pulley can be drawn out. Additionally, you also release the metatarsal belt and open the wide fastener over the metatarsus.
Step 2
Place your foot in the fully opened support from the front. Firstly, close the wide fastening over the metatarsus. Pay attention to the support sitting crease-free and the ankle joint being placed at an angle of 90°. Following this, the two circular straps are closed on the upper edge of the brace. Firstly, the rear strap, then the front strap. Following this, guide the metatarsal belt inwards over the metatarsus and hook it in there.
Step 3
Push the Boa fastener wheel towards the body with an audible “click”. The fastener is now engaged and the brace can be closed. Now turn the Boa fastener wheel clockwise in order to achieve stabilisation of your ankle joint. The more you tighten the Boa system, the better the stabilisation. Please pay attention that, if you fasten it too tightly, neither pressure sores, erythema nor influence of the blood circulation are caused.
Step 4
To remove the brace, the Boa fastener must be released. For this purpose, release the Boa fastener by pulling it outwards until it clicks audibly. You can then draw the pulley out of the Boa casing with the textile strap and loosen the MalleoXpress brace. Finally open the remaining fastenings, release the metatarsal belt and remove the brace from the leg.
Depending on the degree of severity of your injury, it is possible that your doctor has planned additional stabilisation. In order to achieve this, the Bort MalleoXpress can be equipped with a sole module. For this purpose, the attached sole is attached to the inner lining of the support using Velcro. Ensure that the sole is correctly positioned in the support.
Adaptation to the course of therapy:
The Bort MalleoXpress can be adapted to the course of therapy within the scope of the recuperation process. For this purpose, the sole can be removed or otherwise
the side brace shells can be removed. Your doctor decides when and whether the extent of brace stabilisation is adapted.
