Instruction for use:
The adaption of the BORT Diabetic Orthopaedic Shoe must be made by an expert (orthopaedic technician, orthopaedic shoe technician). Here, if required, individual or several honeycomb elements can be separated and removed in order to provide local pressure relief in the plantar foot sole area.
Protect the open foot wound by means of a bandage or similar product. Use crutches when wearing the shoe. Always wear a non-slip shoe with the same heel height on your healthy foot. You are not allowed to operate a vehicle when wearing the BORT surgical shoe!
Indications:
Wounds in the foot and ankle region due to diabetes mellitus, peripheral artery occlusive disease (PAOD), further wounds in the foot and ankle region, post-traumatic, post-operative.
Contraindications:
Extensive plantar wounds without adequate bandaging / covering of the skin in the wound area, always use with crutches.
