Made from low profile lightweight aluminium, it features dynamic polycentric joints with flexion and extension control and limitation. Non-slip interior lining to provide comfort and protection. The joints include air-cushioned condyle pads. To adjust flexion and extension, it has galvanised steel wedges (to prevent corrosion) with different graduations. Limitation range: Extension: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 40°. Flexion: 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°. The aluminium allows small individual adjustment. Adjustment and fastening system by means of adjustable straps that include non-slip protection pads for a better fit.
- collateral ligament injuries (tears),
- conservative treatment of instability resulting from combined knee injuries,
- ruptured cruciate ligaments combined with collateral ligament injuries (triad) and postoperative treatment after ligament surgery (ACL) and (PCL).
Lenght: 37 cm
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
THE PRODUCT SHOULD BE ADJUSTED BY YOUR ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNICIAN OR IN ACCORDANCE WITH DOCTOR’S ORDERS.
In order to obtain a greater degree of therapeutic e ectiveness in the di erent pathologies and to prolong the life and utility of the product, it is fundamental that the correct size adequate for each patient or user is chosen (enclosed in the packet is a diagram with all the sizes and the equivalent in centimetres). An excess compression can produce intolerance, therefore we recommend that the compression be regulated to an optimum degree.
To t observe the following aspects:
A-Adjustment of flexion and extension:
1–The orthosis is supplied with a set of wedges to adjust flexion and extension.
2–Select the desired wedges.
3–Unscrew the protective cover to enable the selected wedge to be inserted.
4–Once tted, tighten the screw to fasten the cover and wedge. Repeat the process to adjust the flexion and extension direction.
B-Fitting instructions for the 0° flexion stop:
1–Unscrew the hinge cover.
2–Remove the 10° extension stop.
3–Replace it with the 0° extension stop.
4–Fully extend the hinge.
5–Insert the 0° flexion stop at the back.
6–Check that the holes in the flexion stop and hinge are aligned. 7–Screw the hinge cover back on.
C-Fitting the orthosis
1–Select the correct side.
2–Completely release the fastening straps to allow the orthosis to be tted easily.
3–Slide it up until the anatomical axis and the mechanical axis are lined up. At this point, and thanks to the aluminium, it is recommended, if necessary, to adjust the mediolateral splints to the morphology of the patient’s condyles.
4–Fasten the orthosis by means of the thigh and calf straps. (When fastening the orthosis, follow the numerical order of the straps from 1 to 6).
5–Finally, check the tightness of the straps and ask the patient to stand and walk, ensuring it is correctly adjusted and fastened.
D-Fitting the air-cushioned condyle pad:
By means of the hook, position the air-cushioned pad on the desired condyle. Then, inflate with the pump to obtain the correct compression. Inflation pump included.
